Lethbridge West Lions Club Service Projects

The Lethbridge West Lions are dedicated to making a positive impact in our community by serving meals to those who are vulnerable. Our efforts take place at the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen, where we strive to provide nourishment and support to those in need. 
Hunger is one of our global causes.

Each November, the Lethbridge West Lions Club hosts the Annual Strides Walk for Diabetes at the University of Lethbridge Wellness Centre’s Indoor Track. This event brings together community members of all ages to raise awareness and funds in support of those affected by diabetes — one of Lions Clubs International’s official Global Causes.
 
Funds raised during the Strides Walk are donated to Diabetes Cavalcade and Diabetes Canada, helping to support vital research, education, and advocacy initiatives. Whether walking in honor of a loved one or to promote healthier lifestyles, participants take meaningful steps toward a world where diabetes is no longer a barrier to living well.

The Lethbridge West Lions Club is proud to partner with Kids Cancer Care to bring comfort and joy to children facing cancer. As part of this heartfelt initiative, we donated 20 care kits specially designed to support young patients during their cancer treatment journeys.
 
Each kit is thoughtfully filled with toys, activities, and comfort items to help entertain, distract, and uplift children during long hospital visits and treatments. These small gifts make a big difference, offering moments of happiness and relief in challenging times.
 
Childhood Cancer is one of Lions Clubs International’s global causes, and through this project, the Lethbridge West Lions are taking action to support children and families in our community.
